Signing and encryption keys

Keys and their change history are kept in PostgreSQL. A replaced key takes effect after the service restarts and passes its checks.

Replace a key

Confirm the fingerprint with the key's owner by phone or in person before uploading. The upload is refused if it does not match. Test this file checks it first without storing anything.

Key type Fingerprint confirmed with the issuer Armored key file (.asc) Up to 128 KB. A Pebsteel private key must be protected with a passphrase.
